What does CVPSD teach?
We believe violence prevention is at the core of everyone's protection. We train with an emphasis on situational awareness and prevention backed up by an integrated self defense curriculum (ground / standing).

Do I need to be in good shape or have any experience?
No, you do not have to be fit or have any previous experience. CVPSD only requires that you have a desire to learn.

Is CVPSD a martial art like Karate or Brazilian Jiu Jitsu BJJ?
CVPSD is NOT a martial art. We work with clients, not students. The martial arts tend to approach training with the goal of teaching a long-term, complex system. The skills we pass on are easy to learn and effective with many body types. CVPSD prepares clients to handle multiple types of real-world criminal encounters. It’s not a sport, game, competition, or traditional martial art. While that can be valuable training, it leaves little time and focus on realistic self-defense or violence prevention. CVPSD is 100% evidence based violence prevention and self-defense. There is no bowing, belts, or rituals. Just learning.

Is the training hard?
No, you can go at your own pace.

Is CVPSD effective for women against men?
Yes, everything we teach is evidence based from real world encounters and pressure tested.

I am nervous about trying this.
This is understandable and very common.  You can take it slow and only do what you feel comfortable doing.

Can I get hurt?
No, we have a progressive training methods with safety guard rails.

Is CVPSD training good for my daughter or son?
Our instruction is an integrated system of violence prevention and self defense in a multi threat world. The multi threats we cover are predatorial, opportunistic, inside, internal and enraged people. Learn More

Do I have to learn violence to protect myself?
We teach violence prevention at our core, which solves 95% of the threats. You can take away what you want and leave the rest.
