Andrew DeMuth brings over three decades of distinguished leadership, tactical expertise, and crisis management experience to the CVPSD Advisory Board. As a veteran law enforcement professional and a premier public safety educator, Andrew has dedicated his career to organizational development, conflict de-escalation, and high-stakes situational response.

Currently, Andrew is the Founder of Leading Blue, a national professional development firm that delivers high-performance leadership training to elite federal, state, and local agencies including the DEA, CIA, Boston Police Department, and numerous state police forces. His work focuses on unlocking human potential and equipping leaders to manage teams effectively under extreme stress.

Prior to launching Leading Blue, Andrew served for over 25 years with the Freehold Borough Police Department, retiring as a Detective Sergeant. Throughout his law enforcement career, he operated directly at the intersection of community safety and violence prevention. His diverse experience includes:

​

• Crisis & Incident Management: Leading high-level tactical and situational response meetings, directing complex investigations, and planning security and crowd management for large-scale public events and protests.

• Tactics & Preparedness: Serving as an Agency-Wide Training Officer, launching internal tactical and legal training programs, and coordinating school premises security and active shooter preparedness initiatives.

• Specialized Violence Interdiction: Serving on the federal Violent Gang Task Force (VGTF) and the County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Strike Force.

• Community Resilience: Directing award-winning youth outreach programs and community relations initiatives designed to build trust and mitigate systemic risk factors.

In addition to his operational background, Andrew is a committed educator. He has served as an Adjunct Professor at Southern New Hampshire University and Middlesex County College specializing in criminal justice, leadership, and critical communication skills and previously served on the Transformative Leadership Advisory Council for the Stillman School of Business at Seton Hall University.

On the CVPSD Advisory Board, Andrew leverages this extensive blend of boots-on-the-ground crisis experience and executive training methodologies to help advance staff-centered safety, trauma-informed de-escalation, and realistic violence prevention strategies.
