Non-Profit CVPSD Seeks NJ Community Support for Weekly Training Room Space

CVPSD Seeks NJ Community Support for Weekly Training Space

The Center for Violence Prevention and Self Defense (CVPSD), a dedicated 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is calling on local businesses, schools, and community centers to assist in its mission to stop violence and empower individuals. CVPSD is seeking a generous organization willing to donate a room or space for a few hours each week to support its vital programming.

CVPSD provides critical education and hands-on training to at-risk individuals, offering workshops, seminars, and self-defense classes focused on violence prevention, risk assessment, and boundary-setting in relationships. The organization is particularly focused on empowering vulnerable populations, such as youth, seniors, and underserved communities, primarily in the northeastern United States.

The Need for Space

As CVPSD expands its reach, the need for a consistent, safe, and accessible space has become urgent. The donated room would be used for:

  • Self-Defense Training: Hands-on classes teaching practical techniques to protect oneself.

  • Workshops: Educational sessions addressing topics such as bullying, domestic violence, and personal safety.

  • Community Seminars: Open forums fostering dialogue on violence prevention strategies.

"Having a regular space will allow us to serve more people effectively," said Shawn Lebrock, a representative from CVPSD. "We’ve seen the transformative impact of our work, and with the support of a local partner, we can expand our efforts to create safer communities."

What CVPSD Is Looking For

  • Location: A room or space in the northeast region, ideally in a central, accessible area.

  • Size: Enough to comfortably accommodate small to medium-sized groups (15-25 people).

  • Timing: A commitment of a few hours per week, preferably during evenings or weekends.

  • Amenities: Basic facilities such as lighting, ventilation, and restrooms are sufficient. A mat or carpeted floor would be an added bonus for physical training sessions.

How You Can Help

By donating space, your organization will be directly contributing to the safety and empowerment of individuals in your community. In return, CVPSD can provide:

  • Recognition on CVPSD’s website, social media channels, and newsletters.

  • Opportunities for collaboration on community events or initiatives.

  • The knowledge that your organization is helping to prevent violence and improve lives.
