The Center for Violence Prevention and Self Defense (CVPSD), a New Jersey–based nonprofit dedicated to stopping violence through education and empowerment, is now offering virtual team-based and Zoom-based violence prevention and self-defense workshops.
This expansion allows individuals, schools, community groups, and organizations nationwide to access CVPSD’s expert-led training from the safety and convenience of their own space.

With over three decades of self-defense experience, CVPSD’s instructors deliver interactive sessions that go beyond physical techniques. Each workshop covers critical topics such as situational awareness, de-escalation strategies, boundary setting, and risk assessment, along with practical self-defense skills that can be practiced in real time over Zoom or Teams.
“Violence prevention isn’t limited by geography,” said Shawn Lebrock of CVPSD. “By offering virtual workshops, we can empower people across the country—whether they’re in schools, corporate offices, or at home—with the tools to stay safe and protect themselves.”
The virtual format is designed for flexibility, making it ideal for corporate teams, government agencies, schools, nonprofits, and community organizations seeking professional training without the need for travel. Workshops can be customized to address specific concerns, such as workplace safety, travel security, stalking awareness, or personal protection.

CVPSD’s Zoom-based workshops maintain the same hands-on and engaging approach as in-person classes, using breakout rooms, scenario-based discussions, and live demonstrations to keep participants actively involved.
For organizations looking to build safer environments and empower their people with life-saving knowledge, CVPSD’s virtual workshops provide an accessible, cost-effective solution.
