Columbus, NJ – September 1st, 2025 – The Center for Violence Prevention and Self Defense (CVPSD) is proud to announce a Violence Prevention and Self-Defense Training workshop on Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM at the Columbus Grange Community Center, 88 Atlantic Ave, Columbus, NJ 08022.

This empowering event is designed to equip community members with essential skills to recognize, prevent, and respond to potential threats in a safe and effective manner. The workshop, led by CVPSD’s certified instructors, will cover the following practical techniques:
Using Emotional Intelligence To Prevent Violence
Learn How To Better Manage Fear And Anger
Perform Better Under Stress

Online Violence Prevention and Defensive Tactics Training Brought To You By Generous Supporters
The Center for Violence Prevention and Self-Defense Training (CVPSD) is a non-profit organization dedicated to research and providing evidence-based training in violence prevention and self-defense.
Through a combination of online and in-person training, workshops, and seminars, CVPSD provides practical self-defense skills, violence prevention strategies, risk assessment tools, and guidance on setting personal and relationship boundaries.
Partnering with public and private organizations, schools, nonprofits, community groups, and government agencies including those under the General Services Administration (GSA) CVPSD works to empower individuals with the knowledge and skills needed to recognize, avoid, and respond effectively to threats.
